FlyEvidence
An Insect Identification Service
Based on a background of more than a dozen years of work as a Museum taxonomist, FlyEvidence offers a convenient business-like identification service, focussed on the biodiversity, ecological and faunistic sectors of science and the public health and legal sectors of non-scientific endeavors.
Correct identification is important for all legal, health, biodiversity, ecological, conservation and environmental impact assessment work. FlyEvidence offers a service for insect identification, centered on, but not exclusive to flies (Diptera). Other groups covered are dragonflies and damsel flies (Odonata), mayflies (Ephemeroptera), stoneflies (Plecoptera), true bugs (Auchenorrhyncha & Heteroptera (Hemiptera), Lacewings and allies (Neuroptera) and broadly, but not specifically, beetles (Coleoptera).
FlyEvidence makes every effort to provide accurate identifications when ever possible and will always indicate uncertainty when it arises. Specimens of immature and/or adult stages are subject to microscopic examination and dissections of genitalia are made where this provided clarification.
